The Long Beach Playhouse continues their 87th Mainstage Season with Noel Coward's classic comedy Hay Fever. The play examines what was supposed to be a quiet weekend away with the Bliss family, while it turns into a ridiculous, banter filled farce.
Sitting in the directorial chair is LBP veteran James Rice. Rice has previously directed hits on the Mainstage like A Flea in Her Ear and The Final Adventure of Sherlock Holmes, among others.
"James Rice has proven time and time again he knows how to handle quick wit and fast paced scene work, like we will see in Hay Fever" said Andrew Vonderschmitt, Executive & Producing Artistic Director of the Long Beach Playhouse. "Our audiences love a wacky comedy, which this cast and crew will deliver."
The cast is made up of veterans of the Playhouse and a few new faces. The central Bliss couple is played by two Playhouse vets, Stephen Alan Carver and Sarah Green. Hay Fever marks Stephen's eighth show with the Playhouse and Sarah's sixth. Other returning players include; Lee Samuel Tanng, Dean Figone, Eva Dailey, and Tiffany Toner. Making their debuts at the Playhouse are: Anissa Leeanna Loer, Susie McCarthy, and Bryan Brophy.
Hay Fever opens on November 7 and runs through December 5.
