Lonesome Music Productions proudly presents E.D. Blues The Musical - a musical comedy about Erectile Dysfunction - at the historic El Portal Mainstage Theatre, in the NOHO Arts District, North Hollywood, CA. June 16-18, 2017 for three performances only!

In a world where productions of The Vagina Monologues and Menopause the Musical have given women a literal stage to relate to and laugh at themselves, E.D. Blues looks to give both men and women a chance to laugh at a subject that - though widely advertised - is generally considered taboo: Erectile Dysfunction. Be among the first to see a showcase performance of this brand new hilarious romantic musical comedy.

The subject matter, though mature, is neither offensive nor profane. E.D. Blues is about how lives are affected by this unfortunate condition and how our multi-ethnic cast of characters reacts to it - each in their own hilarious way! This show is about how men and the women who love them deal with one of nature's re-occurring dilemmas. How a little pill can temporarily solve some problems, but that love is the ultimate cure.

The play was inspired by a song written and recorded by Old School R&B duo, Twoché. The song "Big Daddy's On the Pill," eventually became "E.D. Blues."

Directed by Jeffrey Polk & Kent "Butch" Dubarri Sprague, and choreographed by Jeffrey Polk, the music and original songs are written by award-winning songwriters Gary Dalton & Butch Dubarri with A.T. Freeman and Chris Glik, and have a wide range of appeal to all types of music lovers. Pop, blues, jazz, and R&B set the tone as each memorable number helps to move the story along.

Butch hails from Quincy, Illinois, at the age of 14 he formed his first professional combo, began playing all the local spots, and also began writing and composing original music. After three years spent in the U.S. Army, Butch put his band back together. They worked their way via Route 66 to Hollywood, California. In 1967 he signed with a new record company (Double Shot), and began his professional recording career as Musical Director for pop/R&B singer Brenton Wood. Together they scored two giant hit records and toured all over the United States. Upon attending the National Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Butch was written by the musical theatre bug.

The cast is lead by Broadway veteran Eloise Laws, who is an original leading cast member and co-writer of the Tony nominated musical It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues. Ms. Laws received a Drama Desk Nomination for Best Actress in a musical as well as a Helen Hays Nomination for her performance at the Kennedy Center. Additional cast members include: Andrew Bennett, Todd Gajkdusk, Sandy Mac, Larry James Robinson, Shatese Stewart, Anthony Taylor, Jennifer Winkler, J.C Cadena, Nikeita Crichlow, Windy Barnes Farrell, James Mahkeen and Laurenea Wilkerson.
