Little Fish Theatre today announced the opening of the next show of its fourteenth season, the charming comedy Oh, Baby written by newspaper humor columnist and playwright Monica Lewis.

When Adrienne, a twice divorced woman of 40, realizes she is running out of time to have a baby, she and her enthusiastic mother cook up a plan. They place an ad in the local paper for an acceptable father for her child. Candidates of all types and varying levels of sanity begin arriving at her door, but the plan goes awry when Paul, Adrienne's childhood best friend, moves back into town. Love, Laughter, and self-discovery ensue as this charming play unfolds.

CaroleAnne Johnson (Sugar Bean Sisters) plays the warm man-weary Adrienne, with Geraldine Fuentes (Dixie Swim Club, Southern Exposure) as her charming yet odd mother Natalie, and Bill Wolski (Pick of the Vine, Melville Boys) is the handsome and reliable Paul. Daniel Tennant (Every Christmas Story Ever Told), Rodney Rincon (Pick of the Vine, Oswald), and Hannah Kreiswirth (Twisted Spooky Creepy) round out this stellar cast in a variety of roles.

"This play is quirky and delightful," says director Holly Baker-Kreiswirth. "It's a hilariously heartwarming journey of self-discovery and a warm reminder that sometimes, if we open our eyes, we learn we have what we needed all along." Baker-Kreiswirth is known for her work at Little Fish both onstage and off. Recently she dazzled in various roles in the always popular Pick of the Vine and brought laughs directing Every Christmas Story Ever Told. She also directed critic and audience favorite Tryst, which won a Best Duo Performance Award from StageSceneLA.

Oh, Baby will run Fridays and Saturdays today, April 24 through May 23. A Sunday matinee is scheduled for 2pm on May 17, after which the creative team will be available for 10 to 15 minutes for post-show discussion with the audience.

Founded in 2002, Little Fish Theatre presents classic and contemporary plays in an intimate setting on Centre Street in downtown San Pedro. Producing eleven plays each year for a one-room 65-seat venue, Little Fish delivers the quintessential close-up theatrical experience, where audience and performers share space and sight-lines, making for eruptive laughter, highly-charged action and palpable emotion.
