Broadway star and Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita (Matilda, Dames at Sea, Zorro) will bring her acclaimed concert act, This Broad's Way, to The Rubicon Theatre as part of the Janet and Mark L. Goldenson Broadway Concert Series. The concert will be performed for two nights only: Saturday Nov. 17th at 8p and Sunday Nov. 18th at 2pm.
Featuring time-honored classics, Broadway showstoppers and new twists on what will become old favorites, the show combines Margherita's signature sass and wit as she shares stories about how she's managed to carve her niche in this business we call show. Written by and starring Margherita, This Broad's Way will be directed & produced by Lauren Bass, with musical direction & arrangements by Brett Ryback.
Margherita is best known for creating the role of Mrs. Wormword in Broadway's Matilda and for winning an Olivier Award for her performance as Inez in Zorro on the West End. Originally from California, Margherita became a staple on the Los Angeles stage, garnering multiple awards for her performances in Kiss Me Kate, Man of La Mancha, Little Shop of Horrors and She Loves Me, to name a few. More recently, she has recurred on such television shows as "Homeland", "Instinct", "Seven Seconds", and "Elementary", and appeared opposite Topher Grace and Taye Diggs in the film Opening Night.
This Broad's Way will play for two shows as part of the 2018 Janet and Mark L. Goldenson Broadway Concert Series: Saturday November 17th at 8:00p and Sunday November 18th at 2:00p at The Rubicon Theatre (1006 E. Main St. Ventura, CA 93001). Tickets range from $35-$55.
