The Laguna Playhouse will present the Orange County Premiere of Menopause The Musical beginning July 10.

Written by Jeanie Linders and directed by Kathryn Conte, Menopause "is a 90-minute, tune-filled joyride set in a Bloomingdale's department store, where four women – Earth Mother, Professional Woman, Soap Star and Iowa Housewife – meet by chance. They seemingly have nothing in common—except for a black lace bra, hot flashes, night sweats, memory loss, chocolate binges, not enough sex, too much sex, and more," state press notes.

Menopause features parodies of 25 re-lyricized hits from the 1960s and 70s, including the ever-popular "I Heard It Thru the Grapevine, You No Longer See 39," the classic folk tune "Puff, My God I'm Draggin," and the disco favorite "Stayin' Awake."

Menopause The Musical is currently playing in more than a dozen US cities, and its popularity has spread internationally with casts in Australia, Philippines, South Korea, Italy and Israel.

The musical will run through September 2 at The Laguna Playhouse.  Tickets range from $25 to $65 and can be purchased by calling 949-497-ARTS or online at www.LagunaPlayhouse.com.  The Playhouse's Moulton Theatre is located at 606 Laguna Canyon Rd. in Laguna Beach.
