LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & MC COY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT present the first production in its 2014-2015 season with the Tony Award-winning GOOD PEOPLE, written by David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole, Fuddy Meers) and directed by Jeff Maynard (Broadway Bound, Boeing-Boeing). GOOD PEOPLE will feature Katie MacNichol, Anne Gee Byrd, Gigi Bermingham, Wyatt Fenner, Sophina Brown and Martin Kildare.

GOOD PEOPLE will preview on Friday, September 19, 2014 (with a press opening on Saturday, September 20) and run through Sunday, October 12, 2014 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.

In South Boston, this month's paycheck covers last month's bills, bingo is a night on the town, and sharp- tongued single-mom Margie Walsh has just been let go from yet another job. Scrambling to make ends meet, she looks up an old flame, hoping he'll help her make a fresh start in this comedy/drama from Pulitzer Prize- winner David Lindsay-Abaire about how twists of fate determine our path. *Contains mature language and themes.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST

JEFF MAYNARD (Director) is excited to be back directing at La Mirada. Previous show's here include Broadway Bound, Boeing Boeing, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife starring Marilu Henner, Ovation Nominated The 25thAnnual Putnam County Spelling Bee and the Pulitzer Prize winning Lost In Yonkers. Last February, with Musical Theatre West, he directed The Music Man, starring Davis Gaines at The Carpenter Center. Other recent directorial credits include: Blank Theatre Company's Young Playwright's Festival, a musical half-hour pilot presentation for ABC television "Rated P for Parenthood", collaborating with Jason Robert Brown on a new, revised version of 13, the world premiere of Mad City by Meredith Stiehm and a workshop of Dave Rossmer & Dan Lipton's new musical Shoot! Cut! Print! Kill! Die! He is proud to be a founding member of Buffalo Nights Theatre Company, having directed, acted or produced over 15 productions including: The Final Judgment, Modigliani, Meat, Anatol, Salome, Sophistry and The Madman & The Nun. He won a Drama-Logue Award for Max Frisch's The Firebugs, a Backstage West award for The Apollo of Bellac and LA Weekly's Revival Production of the Year award for Modigliani. Also in Los Angeles, he has directed the West Coast Premiere of the Ovation award nominated Tales of Tinseltown by Michael Colby and Paul Katz - at the Actor's Co-op. In upstate NY, Jeff's directorial work includes Nine, Seussical, Doubt, and The Laramie Project. As an actor Jeff appeared in the first national tour/Los Angeles Premiere of Lost In Yonkers at the Doolittle Theatre, Biloxi Bluesat the Court/Hudson Theatres, Enter Laughing & Taking Stock at the A.J.U.'s- "Let There Be Laughter" series, and TV appearances on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Diagnosis Murder. Jeff currently runs the theatre program at Mirman School, teaches private acting classes throughout Los Angeles and is a graduate of UCLA's School of Theater, Film & Television.

The cast of GOOD PEOPLE will feature Katie MacNichol, Anne Gee Byrd, Gigi Bermingham, Wyatt Fenner, Sophina Brown and Martin Kildare.

The design team for GOOD PEOPLE is as follows: The Scenic Design is by Stephen Gifford. The Lighting Design is by Tim Swiss. The Sound Design is by Josh Bessom. The Costume Design is by Adrianna Lambarri. The Props Coordinator is Terry Hanrahan. The Casting is by Julia Flores. The Production Stage Manager is Lisa Palmire.

GOOD PEOPLE will preview on Friday, September 19, 2014 (with a press opening on Saturday, September 20) and run through Sunday, October 12. Performances will be 7:30pm on Wednesdays & Thursdays; 8pm on Fridays; 2pm and 8pm on Saturdays; and 2pm on Sundays. There will be no matinee performance on Saturday, September 20. Talkbacks with the actors will be on Wednesday, September 24 and Wednesday, October 8.

Celebrating its 21st Anniversary season at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT (MRE), is one of the world's premier theatrical production companies.
