LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS presents a staged reading on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 7:30PM of MAD CITY, a new play written by Meredith Stiehm. The reading is the launch of "Ink Slingers," a New Play Reading Series at La Mirada Theatre. The new Ink Slingers Series gives promising new plays a workshop play-reading experience and will introduce audiences to the creative process of developing a new theatre piece. An audience TalkBack session with the playwright/artists will take place following the reading.

It's a snowy Saturday night in Madison, Wisconsin, and Vivian Howard is admitted to the psych ward. Her sisters Anna and Charlotte, summoned to the hospital, are dismayed to learn that Vivian walked down the aisle at a wedding that evening -- someone else's wedding. Long-held family secrets emerge as the three sisters try to extract Vivian from her emotional and, as it turns out, criminal predicament. CONTAINS MATURE CONTENT.
