The La Jolla Playhouse hosts Diamonds are Forever! a gala benefit, honoring The Playhouse's 60th year and director Des McAnuff, on Saturday, October 27.
"The evening will feature Tony Award-nominated actress and singer Melissa Errico. Errico, along with the Red Dirt Band and other surprise guests, will treat patrons to a once-in-a-lifetime performance as they drink, eat and dance the night away in the fantasy landscape that will transform the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Center," explain press notes, "Chaired by long-time Playhouse supporter, board member and past gala chair Debby Jacobs, the gala directly benefits The Playhouse's new play development and award-winning education programs, ensuring that The Playhouse will continue to bring adventurous work to San Diego and The National Theatre scene."
The evening begins at 5:30PM with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction, followed by a gourmet dinner and wines. After a live auction, Melissa Errico, the Red Dirt Band and other special celebrity guests will perform. The night culminates in a party featuring Zowie Bowie, gourmet desserts and dancing in Club 007.
Tables are available from $5,000 to $25,000; Individual ticket prices range from $500 to $5,000. Underwriting opportunities are also available, and underwriters of $3,000 and above will receive a special invitation to attend an exclusive dinner at a private residence in appreciation of their support.
