LIZZIE moves to the Bootleg Theater in 2019

The House of Borden takes up a new address at the Bootleg Theater this January

LIZZIE, nominated for 11 Broadway World Awards, including Best Musical, moves to the Bootleg Theater, after two extensions from its initial run in 2018.

Director Joanna Syiek says "we are delighted to extend LIZZIE's story into the new year with the Bootleg Theater. This wild rock musical has taken on a life of its own this year and we are happy to see this fierce, all-female piece of feminist theatre continue to resonate with audiences."

LIZZIE, a ferocious rock retelling of the Lizzie Borden case, shakes out the truth behind one of America's most notorious murder trials, all while delivering a score imbued with hard rock, heavy metal, and riot grrrl punk. This rock concert meets historical true-crime storytelling features music and lyrics from writers Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer, Alan Stevens Hewitt, and Tim Maner.

Color & Light Theatre Ensemble's production of LIZZIE opened in September 2018 at Resident DTLA and extended twice into October and November. The show will now return to the Bootleg Theater in January 2019

LIZZIE features direction and musical staging by Joanna Syiek (Indy Award Winner - Direction "American Idiot", Broadway World Nomination - Best Direction, "Lizzie" and "The Pokémusical") with musical direction by Jennifer Lin (Ovation & Stage Raw Nomination - Best Music Direction "Priscilla Queen of the Desert", Broadway World Nomination - Musical Direction, "Lizzie"). The extension will feature original cast Leslie Rubino (Lizzie), Brooke Van Grinsven (Emma), Jenni Marie Lopez (Alice), and Sam Labrecque (Bridget), all of whom received Broadway World nominations for their roles, along with the understudy cast featuring Kelley Dorney (Lizzie u/s), Renee Cohen (Emma u/s), Jade Taylor (Alice u/s) and Kelsey Schulte (Bridget u/s).

Performances will take place January 19-27, 2019 at the Bootleg Theater, located at 2220 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90057. Understudy Performances: Sunday 1/20/19 & Friday 1/25/19. Tickets are $25 and are on sale now at: www.lizzielosangeles.com.
