Hot on the heels of their successful collaboration in DEAR MASTER at the Little Fish Theater in Los Angeles; Branda Lock and Joshua Thomas are proud to present the Los Angeles Premiere of LET THERE BE THISTLES.
Written by Thomas and directed by Lock, THISTLES was previously performed in St Louis, Missouri in a joint production between DUSTY BUMS PRODUCTIONS and FIRST RUN THEATRE. With sold out performances and rave reviews in St Louis under its belt, it's time for THISTLES to hit the stage in the 2018 Hollywood Fringe Festival!
BIOS:
Joshua Thomas
A native of Wellington, New Zealand before moving to Sydney, Australia, he then spent two years in an acting conservatory in Sydney before joining a travelling Shakespeare company where he further developed his love of theatre.
After a move to St Louis in 2007, he worked extensively in the local theatre scene as well as television film and theatre work in Illinois, Alabama and New York.
?A winner of multiple theatrical awards including best actor awards three years running, Joshua also has his own Dusty Bums Productions through which he produced and directed both the world premieres of Angels and Whiskey in the 2014 Hollywood Fringe and Let There Be Thistles in a co-production with First Run Theatre in St Louis. After successful STL and NYC productions of Joshuas' play 'Seven Pages of Aliens in a Corn Field' another of his plays 'Kink' was officially selected for the inaugural Labute New Theater Festival held at the St Louis Actors Studio in July 2013.

BRANDA LOCK
Branda is very excited to be making her Hollywood Fringe Festival debut! She hails from the Washington D.C. Theatre region where she has directed and performed with such theatre's as Olney Theatre, Adventure Theatre, Kennedy Center, Imagination Stage, and many more. Most recently Branda had the honor to direct Boeing Boeing at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre. Other Los Angeles directing credits include: Best of Pick of the Vine, Dear Master, What The Night Is For, and Pick of the Vine 2016 (Little Fish Theatre); Major Barbara and Five Women Wearing the Same Dress (Infinite Jest Theatre Company); Blithe Spirit and The Musical of Musicals (The Musical) (West Valley Playhouse); The Plan (Green Light One-Acts). Branda is a proud company member of Little Fish Theatre and Infinite Jest Theatre Company, National Players (Tour 59) alumni, and Helen Hayes award winner. She is also a DC Fringe Festival best comedy award recipient for her part in Romeo & Juliet: Choose Your Own Ending. This summer she has had the distinction of being accepted into the Theatre Lab West directing program at The Pasadena Playhouse. Branda is a graduate from Susquehanna University with a B.F.A. in Theatre and B.S. in Economics.
