Bram Stoker's immortal story is coming to Valley Performing Arts Center for one night only on October 28, 2015 at 8:00 pm.

Staged by acclaimed performance company, LA Theatre Works, DRACULA has become a classic of world literature, spawning hundreds of movies, TV shows, plays and books. Welcome to a world where people fly like bats in the night. Welcome to a life where, at any moment, you could be turned into a creature of the undead.

In Charles Morey's adaptation for the stage, Count DRACULA slips quietly into Victorian London with a cargo of his native Transylvanian soil necessary for his rest and protection when the sun shines. With the city helpless against his power, one man, the smart and resourceful Dr. Van Helsing, works to stop the carnage. But to win against the demon, he must uncover the vampire's lair and pierce his heart with a wooden stake, setting up an epic confrontation of good vs. evil.

LA Theatre Works' DRACULA, directed by Matt August, takes the stage at 8:00 p.m. at Valley Performing Arts Center, Great Hall. Tickets range from $40 - $50 and can be purchased by visiting ValleyPerformingArtsCenter.org or calling (818) 677-3000. Valley Performing Arts Center is located on the campus of California State University, Northridge (CSUN), 18111 Nordhoff Street Northridge, CA 91330-8448, at the corner of Nordhoff and Lindley.

Featuring world-class actors on stage and on the air, award-winning LA Theatre Works has won over audiences throughout the world in collaboration with international broadcasters including the BBC, Voice of America and Radio Beijing. In the U.S., more than eight million listeners each year in 60 cities enjoy LA Theatre Works' weekly public radio show broadcast. Live performances at UCLA's James Bridges Theater and state-of-the art audio recordings transform classic and contemporary stage works into intimate, compelling works of art. The organization also mounts one traveling show each year. Audio recordings of LA Theatre Works' productions are available throughout the world as audiobooks, ebooks, and apps through all major retailers (Amazon, iTunes, etc.) and at www.LATW.org.

The Valley Performing Arts Center's 2015-16 Season signals a new era for the five-year old premiere event venue. Under the leadership of Executive Director Thor Steingraber, VPAC expands its programming to include new and original work, and outstanding multi-disciplinary performances. Located on the campus of California State University Northridge, VPAC's season offers a vibrant and diverse performance program of nearly 50 classical and popular music, dance, theater, family and international events that will serve to establish VPAC as the intellectual and cultural heart of the San Fernando Valley and further establish itself as one of the top arts companies in Southern California. The award-winning 1,700-seat theatre was designed by HGA Architects and Engineers and was recently cited by the LA Times as "a growing hub for live music, dance, drama and other cultural events."
