This weekend, beginning Saturday, December 26, L.A. Theatre Works will air Mary Stuart by Friedrich von Schiller, in the U.S. premiere of a new translation by Peter Oswald. The broadcast can be heard locally in Southern California on Saturday from 10 pm to midnight on KPCC 89.3 FM, and can also be streamed on demand at http://www.latw.org/.
Elizabeth I of England is threatened by the survival of her Catholic cousin, Mary Stuart. Wrestling with her own conscience, the Queen agonizes over Mary's fate, amidst fears for her own life. Starring Alex Kingston, Simon Templeman, Jill Gascoine, Martin Jarvis, and W. Morgan Sheppard. The broadcast also features an interview with Jane Dunn, author of "Elizabeth and Mary: Cousins, Rivals, Queens."
