LA Opera invites the public to an Open House, which will take place at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion from 10am to 6pm on Sunday, March 26, 2017.

Angelenos of all ages-from seasoned opera fans to complete newcomers-are encouraged to experience the many different elements that come together to create the magic of opera. Several events are designed specifically for families with young children, and all events and activities are offered free of charge. The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion is located at 135 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles CA 90012.

The schedule and locations of events will be made available at LAOpera.org/OpenHouse.

Scheduled Open House events include:

FOR KIDS AND FAMILIES
Sing Out Loud
Sing Out Loud is a 30-minute, interactive introduction to opera for children and their families, featuring some of opera's "greatest hits." The performance is geared toward children from ages 4 to 10 and their families.

Art Workshops for Children
Hands-on art workshops will be offered throughout the day to children ages 4 to 10. Using opera as inspiration, children can make their own opera-themed masks or decorate a postcard to send to a loved one.

MUSICAL PERFORMANCES FOR ALL AGES
Young Artist Recital
Singers from LA Opera's prestigious Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program will perform beloved arias and ensembles from favorite operas.

Great Opera Choruses Concert
Grant Gershon will conduct the LA Opera Chorus in a concert of famous choruses from a number of popular operas. Best of all, audience members of all ages-and of any musical ability-will have the exciting opportunity to join in the fun by singing along with the pros.

Pittance Chamber Music Concert
This chamber concert features an instrumental ensemble made up of members of the LA Opera Orchestra, joined by tenor Arnold Livingston Geis. The program will include folk songs arranged by Benjamin Britten, the song cycle On Wenlock Edge by Ralph Vaughan Williams, and the string sextet by Erich Wolfgang Korngold.
