The 34th Kritzerland show is a tribute to a unique, one-of-a-kind original - Noel Coward. Coward did it all -he wrote plays (Blithe Spirit, Hay Fever, Present Laughter, Private Lives), musicals (The Girl Who Came to Supper, Sail Away and others), divertissements (Tonight at 8:30 - a cycle of nine short plays performed over three nights), he starred in and directed most of his shows, and he was posessed of an incredible "talent to amuse" - a brilliant wit with a brilliant way with words and music, a romantic who could melt the heart, and someone who was the very epitome of sophistication and style.
As always with Kritzerland shows, you'll hear the familiar and the unfamiliar work of Coward, and a couple of songs from High Spirits by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane, definitely written in the Coward style for the musical version of Coward's Blithe Spirit - in fact, Coward directed the show, and even recorded four of its songs in his inimitable style.
The company has assembled a cast of six, and guest star, the effervescent and amazing Susan Watson. So, order a cocktail and go back in time to Cowardland, where life is a marvelous and mischievous party with the fabulous songs of Noel Coward. You'll be mad about the boy.
