Kirsten Vangsness has been set to host the 28th Annual LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards Ceremony on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Red carpet arrivals begin at 6pm and the ceremony begins at 7:30pm.

Kirsten Vangsness is a decades-long member of Hollywood's Theatre of NOTE, where she has happily performed, produced, and sometimes served as playwright, including Potential Space (LA Weekly Award nomination, Best Playwright) and Cleo, Theo and Wu, her new play that will premiere at NOTE in fall of 2018. As an actress, some of her favorite NOTE shows include Erik Patterson's I Wanna Hold Your Hand, and Bill Robens' Kill Me, Deadly (which is now a film available on iTunes and Hulu). Other stage appearances in LA include Sheila Callaghan's Everything You Touch (Ovation Award Nominee, Best Actress; Stage Raw Award-winner, Best Production), and the West Coast premiere of Neil LaBute's Fat Pig (Garland Award, Best Actress). Vangsness regularly performs her critically acclaimed solo show Mess - about quantum theory and monsters - around Los Angeles. She appears on the CBS primetime drama Criminal Minds as FBI technical analyst Penelope Garcia.

Said Vangsness, "I am beyond delighted to be hosting the Ovation Awards. I'm truly honored to be part of the pulsing, strange, expansive, wonderful, challenging world that is Los Angeles theatre. It's totally fitting that we'll be celebrating at the glamorous, super cool Theatre at Ace Hotel - the artists that make our town this theatre nest of 'wonderful' match it perfectly."

Sponsors for this year's Ovation Awards ceremony are Wells Fargo, Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment, F&D Scene Changes Ltd., UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television, Goldstar, USC School of Dramatic Arts, Ken Werther Publicity, Bakers Man Productions, Time Out Los Angeles, TheaterMania | OvationTix, Performances Magazine, Variety, KCET, Footlights, and Peter Konerko Photography.
