BINGO
By Edward Bond
Directed by Jane Elliott
BINGO (aptly subtitled Scenes of Money and Death) takes a look at the last days of Shakespeare's life as he comes to terms with his failing powers as a writer and his need to ensure an income as he approaches his inevitable death. With nods to King Lear and The Winter's Tale, Bingo is a play that is a critic of capitalism, an examination of what happens when the creative spark has gone, and an
investigation of the dynamics of family life.
