Kentwood Players proudly presents the musical AVENUE Q, Music and Lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, book by Jeff Whitty, based on the Original Concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx.

Performance dates are November 10 - December 16, 2017 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm with one Thursday evening performance on December 14 at 8pm. Performances take place at the Westchester Playhouse, located at 8301 Hindry Avenue in Westchester, CA 90045. There will be a complimentary pre-show champagne and dessert reception between 7:00-7:30pm for season subscribers and their guests attending the Saturday, November 11 performance.

In addition, we are holding our 5th annual Kentwood Kares Coat Drive during the run of AVENUE Q. Please donate a new or gently used coat, sweater or jacket for a man, woman, or child when you come to see the show. All items will be donated to the Los Angeles Mission.

This production is directed by Susan Goldman Weisbarth, and produced by Gail Bernardi and Margie Bates for Kentwood Players with rights secured from Music Theater International. Musical director is Mike Walker. Featured in the cast in alphabetical order are Rachel Berman, Bryan Burrets, Shawn Clifford, Megan Taylor Cormier, Maya Efrat, Jacqueline Garrell, Sam Goldman, Brandon Gomez, Brad Halvorsen, Angie Jho, Peter Miller, Kyle Whelihan.

Winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, AVENUE Q is an irreverent and hilarious musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton, who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that, although the residents seem nice, it's clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, love and their ever-elusive purpose in life. Filled with gut-busting laugh-out-loud humor and a delightfully catchy score, not to mention puppets, AVENUE Q is a truly unique show that has quickly become a favorite for audiences everywhere.

Although the show addresses humorous adult issues and is loosely based on a popular children's show (a place where puppets are friends, monsters are good, and life lessons are learned), this show features adult themes, offensive language and an onstage portrayal of puppet sex. It is not appropriate for children under 16 years of age.
