KPFK's Arts In Review Hosts Actors Valerie Perri And Larry Cedar From THE WORLD GOES ROUND At Freud Playhouse   ImageKPFK Radio's Arts in Review, Los Angeles's longest-running radio showcase on live theater and cabaret, airs Fridays (2-2:30pm) on KPFK 90.7FM. Today, Sep 7, Julio hosts Valerie Perri and Larry Cedar from Reprise 2.0's staging of the musical, The World Goes Round, currently performing though Sep 16 at The Freud Playhouse at UCLA

In The World Goes 'Round the audience enters the world of John Kander and Fred Ebb, with a stunning celebration of the songbook from this multi-Tony award-winning team. The original production won three Drama Desk Awards. The World Goes 'Round will be directed by Richard Israel with choreography by John Todd, and musical direction by Gerald Sternbach.

Valerie Perri - Award-winning singer-actress Valerie Perri's career began under legendary director/producer Harold Prince when she starred as Evita in the Broadway National Tour, and reprised this glorious role the next 20 years. She then had the honor to work with iconic director/choreographer Jerome Robbins in the Broadway National of Jerome Robbins' Broadway. Recently she shared the stage with Melanie Griffith in The Graduate at the Laguna Playhouse, and Southern California audiences will remember her as Dolly Levi in 3D Theatrical's production of Hello Dolly!, as well as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard at both Musical Theater West and Moonlight Amphitheater.

Larry Cedar - Rubicon Theater: Sylvia, Colony Theater: The Best of Enemies, Around the World in 80 Days, Billy Bishop Goes to War, The Accomplice, Stage Struck, Celadine, American Fiesta, and Travels With My Aunt. Geffen Playhouse: The Gospel According to Jefferson, Dickens, and Tolstoy: Discord (as Thomas Jefferson), Nightmare Alley. Studio Stage: King Lear (as Lear), Boston Court: American Misfit. Larry's has written and performed two of his own one-man literary stage adaptations, Orwellian and Dostoevsky's Notes From the Underground, each of which won Best Solo Performance at the 2016 and 2017 NoHo Fringe Festivals.
