Kentwood Players welcomes Joshua Eli Kranz as Musical Director for its production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS opening this September.
The multi-talented actor and musician started studying music at the piano at 5, and at age 10 while studying the trumpet so he could play in his school orchestra, Joshua's teacher flew out of the room while giving Joshua a lesson to declare that Joshua has perfect pitch. So began a lifetime of studying music: piano, trumpet, guitar, ukulele, violin, voice, vocal jazz, choral singing, barbershop, musical theatre, and composing, pointing in the direction of jazz and musical theatre.
Joshua lives in Burbank, CA where he grew up. He studied music extensively both before and after having experienced musical theatre at Hamilton High School's Academy of Music. He has an extensive acting resume, having performed in many musicals including "Fiddler on the Roof," "Grease," "A Little Night Music," "Forever Plaid," "The Fantastiks," "Cabaret," and "The Music Man."
Joshua musically directed an original musical at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, The 1920's Skidoo Revue, an original summer musical production at PCC called Broadway Songbook, The Apple Tree for Pasadena City College, and vocally directed and co-musically directed City of Angels for Pasadena City College also playing jazz piano in the 30 piece pit orchestra with Cy Coleman's wife in attendance. Joshua musically directs for local children's theatre and recently earned much praise as musical director of And the World Goes 'Round in NoHo which he vocally directed, played the entire musical score on stage, and sang the opening number, a duet, and several others.

Joshua invites you to audition for the Kentwood Players production of the comedy rock musical "Little Shop of Horrors" with book by Howard Ashman and music and lyrics by Alan Menken, on Saturday, July 13 from 11am-4pm and Sunday, July 14 from 6-9pm, with callbacks on Monday, July 15 from 7-10pm.at the Westchester Playhouse, located at 8301 Hindry Avenue, Westchester, CA 90045.
