JOLSON AT THE WINTER GARDEN Extends In North Hollywood Thru 9/25

DAN ISRAELY, producer of the new musical, JOLSON AT THE WINTER GARDEN, starring acclaimed Broadway actor, Mike Burstyn, announced today that due to popular demand and exceptional advance Box OffIce Ticket sales, the Los Angeles Premiere production of the musical will be extended one additional week through Sunday, September 25, 2011. Dan Israely, who also produced the Off-Broadway critically acclaimed productions of "org*sms," "Lansky" and "On Second Avenue," said: "I couldn't be happier. To extend a production is always a producer's wish. I'm very grateful."

The musical will now play for a Limited Three Week run at the historic El Portal Theatre; 5269 Lankershim Boulevard; North Hollywood, CA 91601 from September 6 - 25, 2011 on Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. In addition, Matinee performances will be given at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The Official Opening Night is Thursday, September 8, 2011. Tickets are $35, $50 and $60.

Mike Burstyn will star in the titular role as Al Jolson. He will be supported by a live on stage band and three back-up singers. The musical is a recreation of Al Jolson's famous Sunday concerts at the noted New York Broadway theatre, the Winter Garden. Created and Written by Bill Castellino and Mike Burstyn; directed and choreographed by Bill Castellino and produced by Dan Israely Productions and Kit Productions, and Producers, Dan Israely and Zahava Atzmon, the supporting cast includes: Jacqueline Bayne, Laura Hodos and Wayne LeGette.
