Hero Theatre announced that it will be part of a benefit for Puerto Rico to be held at the Los Angeles Theatre Center on November 10, 2017 at 8pm.
The one night benefit event, Teatro For Puerto Rico!, will take place at the Los Angeles Theatre Center. It consists of a special performance of El Apagón by Pregones Theatre of the Bronx, NY and a performance by celebrated Afro-Caribbean bomba dance troupe, Cunyá.
Teatro For Puerto Rico! is presented by the Latino Theater Company in association with Hero Theatre, Taller Kurubina and Cunyá.
The price of general admission for the event is fifty dollars ($50) and includes admission to both El Apagón and Cunyá. The ticket price also includes a complimentary beverage.
All proceeds for the event will benefit Pregones/PRTT's Hurricane Maria Relief Drive for Artists and the Pa'Arriba Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief Fund, which focuses on the isolated and most vulnerable communities on the island.
Teatro For Puerto Rico! is part of Encuentro de Las Americas, a three-week long festival of plays by fourteen different companies from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Peru and Columbia. Encuentro de las Americas is produced by the Latino Theater Company in association with the Latinx Theatre Commons.
All performances are held at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
