Harold Sanditen, a former, prestigious UK Theatre Producer brings his critically acclaimed, bi-continental cabaret show Thoughts 'Round Midnight to Hollywood's M Bar Friday, June 17 for one night only, it was announced today.
Featuring songs that delve into such late night thoughts as loneliness, gratitude, jealousy, joy, love, fantasies, lost opportunities and even revenge, Sanditen soulfully weaves an emotional quilt of wit and genuinely comedic twists through carefully selected classics by such iconic singers and songwriters as John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Billy Holiday, Thelonious Monk, Bob Dylan, Jay Leonhart, Dorothy Fields, Stephen Sondheim, and Antonio Carlos Jobim... to name but a few.
For 20 years, Sanditen was a successful UK-based theatre producer with shows that ran the gamut from small to large scale commercial productions. Though he lives in London and has produced there, he has also been at the helm of theatrical properties throughout the United Kingdom, as well as Baltimore and New York City.
However, after engineering and presenting the UK debuts of many North American performers including Academy Award winners Jessica Lange and Vanessa Redgrave, and such distinguished actors as Clive Owen and Paul Rudd, it was in 2008 that Mr. Sanditen opted to leave producing behind and concentrate on his true love of singing and cabaret. He has since become a bona fide London and New York cabaret concert star with a wide range of vocal styles which easily embrace jazz and Latin, pop and ballads, Broadway and musical theatre.
Conceived by the artist himself, with legendary cabaret star Andrea Marcovicci serving as a consultant, Thoughts 'Round Midnight celebrates the 2010 release of Mr. Sanditen's first CD Taking Flight (a riveting compilation of songs from his three different cabaret shows).
Preceding its booking in Los Angeles on June 17, Thoughts 'Round Midnight will play Toronto on June 14 at the Buddies in Badtimes Theatre (bit.ly/gk29UC ). It will then be presented in San Diego June 18 at Tango del Rey (www.tangodelray.com), and Palm Springs at Arthur Newman Theatre at the Joslyn Center (www.brownpapertickets.com/event/167673 ) June 19. In Los Angeles, Mr. Sanditen will be joined by Nathan Light on bass with Musical Direction by Shelly Markham.
