A guest production of Larry Kramer's acclaimed play The Normal Heart has been announced for a limited four-week run at the Chromolume Theatre at the Attic. Directed by Marilyn McIntyre, opening is set for Friday, February 24 at 8pm and the engagement will conclude on Sunday, March 19.

Assistant direction is by Ivan Rivas, and the stage manager is Amy Koch. Producers are Sara Burkhardt, Amy Koch, and Parker Mills.

Set in the early 1980s, The Normal Heart is a searing drama about public and private indifference to the AIDS plague and one man's lonely fight to awaken the world to the crisis. Originally produced off Broadway in 1985, the play was revived on Broadway in 2011 to great acclaim and winning three Tony Awards. The Normal Heart follows the story of Ned Weeks, a gay activist desperately trying to save the world from itself when suddenly he is forced to confront the personal toll of the AIDS epidemic.

The Normal Heart opens on Friday, February 24 at 8pm. The regular performance schedule is Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7pm through March 19. (Curtain time on Sunday, February 26 is 2pm.) Tickets are $25 and may be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2816561 or by phone at (800) 838-3006. Chromolume Theatre at the Attic is located at 5429 W. Washington Boulevard (between the 10 freeway and Hauser Boulevard), in Los Angeles, 90016. Ample street parking is available.
