The critically acclaimed Ghost Road Company will present a fully staged workshop production of its latest original piece, Asterion at the Atwater Village Theatre, March 30 - April 9, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. Inspired by the Greek myth of the Minotaur, the play explores the inner life of Asterion, a man who has known the dark side of his nature and fights to regain his humanity. Tickets may be purchased online at Ghostroad.org.
Returning from a sort of exile, battle weary Asterion faces a strange homecoming. Is he locked up for his own protection or that of the public? What are the true intentions of his mother Pasiphae, his father Minos and his sister Ariadne? In this world of shadows, Asterion must face his demons as those closest to him fan the flames of his monstrousness. This visceral, physical and poetic piece was conceived by Katharine Noon and developed by Noon with Ghost Road Company ensemble members and guest artists through their continually evolving collaborative process.
