Kicking off its final week at the Geffen Playhouse, IN & OF ITSELF, the latest production by master storyteller and award-winning magician Derek DelGaudio, will feature an exclusive, intimate, one-time-only post-show Q&A with the creative team that has made the production one of the most successful in the 20-year history of the Geffen Playhouse.

The Monday, August 23rd post-performance discussion will feature DelGaudio along with director Frank Oz, producer Glenn Kaino and acclaimed illusionist Michael Weber fielding audience questions about the making of this radically new theatrical experience. A cocktail reception for the show creators and audience will follow the discussion.

Since opening on May 3rd, IN & OF ITSELF has enjoyed five extensions in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse and must close on August 28th. Tickets for this special, August 23rd performance and Q&A are priced at $250 and are available in-person at the Geffen Playhouse box office, via phone at 310-208-5454 or online at www.geffenplayhouse.org. Fees may apply. Proceeds from this evening benefit Geffen Playhouse Education Programs, which bring the joy of theater arts to 15,000 Angelenos each year.

Directed by four-time Emmy winner Frank Oz, featuring original music by Mark Mothersbaugh, the show is produced by Glenn Kaino, and presented in association with Tom Werner. "Developing this show has been a transformative experience," said DelGaudio, "What began as a deeply personal endeavor has evolved into this remarkable collaboration."

"Imagine what Samuel Becket would have written if he'd been optimistic, American, and a virtuoso magician," said magician Teller after experiencing the show. Penn Jillette noted, "Derek has created the best magic show I've ever seen and that might be damning with faint praise. It's Marcel Duchamp and Andy Kaufman if they could do perfect bottom deals. It will blow your mind."

Ticket prices, for all shows except the event on August 23rd, start at $75 and are available in-person at the Geffen Playhouse box office, via phone at 310.208.5454 or online at www.geffenplayhouse.org. Based on seat availability, $35 Rush Tickets are available at the box office 30 minutes prior to curtain time through August 28th. Fees may apply.
