The Gallo Center for the Arts is asking the community to anonymously share their secrets, as part of a special PostSecret exhibit to be held in the Gallo Center lobby, March 26 through April 1.
The free, week-long event will display all secret-containing postcards submitted prior to Frank Warren’s speech at Gallo Center on April 1 at 3:00 PM. Warren is the sole founder and curator of the PostSecret Project; a collection of over 200,000 highly personal and artfully decorated postcards mailed anonymously from around the world, displaying the soulful secrets we never voice.
Those interested in submitting secrets to be displayed at the exhibit should mail postcards to the Gallo Center at 1000 I Street, Modesto, CA 95354 or dropped off in person during regular Ticket Office hours (Monday – Friday 10AM to 6PM, Saturday 12 to 6PM).
The exhibit will be open to the public March 26 through April 1: 10AM to 6PM, Monday through Friday; 12 to 6PM on Saturday; and 1 to 4PM on Sunday.
Tickets to Frank Warren’s speech start at $15 and are available for purchase at the ticket office, online atwww.galloarts.org or by calling (209) 338-2100.
Warren receives between 100 and 200 postcards everyday. He updates his website, PostSecret.com, on Sundays and is working to produce four more PostSecret books in addition to those he’s already written. “I have been asked many times why I started this,” he said. “It still feels to me as though this project found me. All I try to do is make the right decisions every day to protect the integrity of the project – and learn to trust the journey.”
Frank Warren’s speech is sponsored by Tri Counties Bank and UC Merced. The Gallo Center’s 2011-2012 Premier Partner is Boyett Petroleum.
