David Lindsay-Abaire's Tony-nominated play "Good People", directed by Christine
Dunford, is at The Hudson Guild Theatre in Hollywood on Fridays & Saturdays at 8 pm
and Sundays at 3 pm from April 29th through June 5th. This production explores the
following: What makes a good person? Does financial stability engender good acts? Is
the American Dream achievable, or do you have to be lucky?
The cast features Shayne Anderson, Kia Hellman, Laura House, Tyler Meridith, Marsha
Morgan and Keiana Richard with designs by Azra King-Abadi (lighting), Maggie Lima
(costumes), DJ Medina (sound), Yuri Okahana (set), Bethany Tucker (props), and the
additional support and talents of Carly Llewellyn-Ryan, Val Salas, Anne Burk, Timm
Freeman, Angela Shin and Lily Kravets.
Here's what Variety had to say about the Broadway production of "Good People": "David
Lindsay-Abaire pays his respects to his old South Boston neighborhood with this tough
and tender play about the insurmountable class divide between those who make it out
of this blue-collar Irish neighborhood and those who find themselves left behind. The
scrappy characters have tremendous appeal, and the moral dilemma they grapple with
-is it strength of character or just a few lucky breaks that determines a person's fate?-
holds special significance in today's harsh economic climate."
