GIDION'S KNOT & More Set for Furious Theatre Company's 2013-14 Season; Will Return to Carrie Hamilton Theatre

The critically acclaimed FURIOUS THEATRE COMPANY are thrilled to announce that they are returning to the Pasadena Playhouse's Carrie Hamilton Theatre with a brand new season, brand new ensemble members and are just as Furious as ever!

For over a decade, FURIOUS THEATRE COMPANY has been at the forefront of producing bold plays with top-notch production values. The new 2013-2014 season promises to be just as confrontational, challenging and electrifying. The first show of the new season will bring the Los Angeles premiere of a scalding two-hander, GIDION'S KNOT by Johnna Adams. This award-winning drama will open on November 2 and involves a tense and heartbreaking confrontation between a teacher and her student's parent. Both women will never be the same after the encounter...and neither will the audience. GIDION'S KNOT will feature Furious founding member, Vonessa Martin (Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award Winner) and Deborah Puette ("Oz the Great and Powerful"). Darin Anthony will direct GIDION'S KNOT in his first outing as a Furious Theatre Resident Director.

Opening on the same day in Portland Oregon will be the second show of the season, the U.S. premiere of FOXFINDER by Dawn King. In a first ever for Furious, FOXFINDER will be presented in association with ARTISTS REPERTORY THEATRE of Portland Oregon and will be directed by their new Artistic Director Damaso Rodriguez. Mr. Rodriguez was most recently one of the Co-Founders and Co-Artistic Directors of Furious Theatre Company. FOXFINDER opens NOVEMBER 2 in Portland with a cast that includes Furious Co-Founders Shawn Lee and Sara Hennessy (both LA Drama Critics Circle Award Winners), and a production crew that includes Furious Ensemble member Doug Newell on Sound. FOXFINDER will open at the Carrie Hamilton On January 11th.

Making this season all the more exciting is the announcement of acclaimed playwright Matt Pelfrey joining Furious as a new Co-Artistic Director and that Furious Theatre will once again make its home at the Carrie Hamilton Theatre. Looking to once again build a professional relationship with the Furious Theatre Ensemble, Sheldon Epps and Playhouse Executive Director Elizabeth Doran has invited Furious Theatre to make its artistic home at the Pasadena Playhouses' upstairs theatre.
