Sultan's Battery is the latest play from writer Kathy Rucker, and will open on September 24th, 2010 and run through October 17th, 2010 at the Whitmore-Lindley Theatre in North Hollywood. Cody Goulder and Marisa Rojas of the Fresh Baked Theatre Company are the directors. The play, which was nominated for the 2010 London Fringe Festival Theatre Writing Award, will run on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. SULTAN'S BATTERY is a mystical whodunit. Ray, a naive young American, has arrived in India to deliver a one-of-a-kind statue of the Virgin Mary to a religious festival in the town of Sultan's Battery. Unfortunately, someone has stolen Mary. What follows is a series of whimsical events involving love, religion, faith, mice, uncooperative clocks and a certain elephant-headed God.
