“MythBusters: Behind the Myths Tour”
Starring Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage
“MythBusters: Behind the Myths,” promises to be a fantastical evening of on-stage experiments, audience participation, rocking
video and behind-the-scenes stories. For the first time ever, fans will join Jamie and Adam on stage and assist in their mind-blowing and mind-twisting approach to science.
"MythBusters: Behind the Myths" brings you face-to-face with the curious world of Jamie and Adam as the duo matches wits on stage with each other and members of the audience. The show is on a 28-city national tour that begins in Modesto, California on January 6, 2012. One of the Discovery Channel’s most highly regarded and watched series, “MythBusters” is now in its ninth season. Co-hosted by Hyneman and Savage, “MythBusters” mixes scientific method with gleeful curiosity and plain old-fashioned ingenuity to create its own signature style of explosive experimentation – and the supporting or de-bunking of urban myths that we live with day to day.
Adam and Jamie have become spokespersons at large for applying science to real life – most recently as hosts of the Discovery Channel special “"iGenius: How Steve Jobs Changed the World,” and have appeared on numerous shows including “Late Show with David Letterman,” “Good Morning America,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “The Colbert Report,” NPR’s “All Things Considered” and “Morning Edition,” “Countdown with Keith Olberman,” and many more. They were invited to participate in Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert’s Rally to Restore Fear And/Or Sanity and have received the Young Artist Award for inspiring young people in the interest of science. “MythBusters” has been invited to participate on a panel at Comic-Con, where their appearances have sold-out four years running.
Adam and Jamie serve as guest editors for Popular Mechanics and were featured on the cover of the September 2009 issue. That same year, they were inducted as honorary members into Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society. They are Honorary Lifetime Members of the California Science Teachers Association and were named Honorary Engineers and Honorary Members of the Francis Crowe Society at the University of Maine. Adam and Jamie produced and starred in an H1N1 Public Service Announcement for the White House, and were chosen by the President to retest the Archimedes legend using 500 schoolchildren as surrogate soldiers.
They appeared as themselves in the movie Darwin Awards and have made several cameos on other TV shows, including CSI. And In 2010, Hyneman and Savage received the Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award in Cultural Humanism from the Harvard Secular Society.

Colbie Caillat
Listening to All of You, the third and most intriguing release from Colbie Caillat, is like turning a page of a book you’ve savored for two chapters only to be surprised and delighted by what awaits in Chapter 3. This is, first of all, definitely and unmistakably a Caillat gem. Those qualities that burst from the first notes of her 2007 debut Coco like bouquets of sonic joy, and flowered in 2009’s Breakthrough, emanate from every track on All of You. But now they bloom with a richness of emotion and insight that comes only when a gifted artist can channel lessons learned into her music. She has sung the national anthem on the kickoff to the 2011 NFL season and performed at the Nobel Peace Concert in Oslo. She and her original music have been featured in commercials for cotton and in ABC Family Channel’s “25 Days of Christmas,” whose theme song she wrote and arranged. Her embrace has stretched to include work for honorable causes including the Surfrider Foundation, Save the Music and the Humane Society, for which she has recently become a spokesperson.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
With Special Guests
Big Papa and The TCB
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is a contemporary swing revival band from southern California. Their notable singles include "Go Daddy-O", "You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby)", and "Mr. Pinstripe Suit". The band played the Super Bowl xxIII half-time show in 1999.
The band was originally formed in Ventura, California, in 1989 by leader Scotty Morris. The band was named Big Bad Voodoo Daddy after Scotty Morris met blues guitar legend Albert Collins at one of the latter's concerts. "He signed my poster 'To Scotty, the big bad voodoo daddy'," Morris explains. "I thought it was the coolest name I ever heard on one of the coolest musical nights I ever had. So when it came time to name this band, I didn't really have a choice. I felt like it was handed down to me."
After playing in punk and alternative rock bands during the 80s, including False Confession, part of the Oxnard, California Nardcore scene, Scotty Morris founded Big Bad Voodoo Daddy with Kurt Sodergren. The band launched two CDs, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Watchu' Want for Christmas? under their own label (Big Bad Records) before getting their big break when their songs "You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby)","I Wan'na Be Like You" and "Go Daddy-O" were featured in the soundtrack of the 1996 comedy-drama Swingers. From there, they were signed by Capitol Records.
With Capitol, the band released Americana Deluxe, This Beautiful Life, and Save My Soul. The band has continued their tours, performances and album releases. The band had appeared at the 1999 Super Bowl half-time show and the 2006 Capital One Bowl, and also served as the house band for ESPN's ESPY Awards for a few years. The band created a version of the opening theme for the sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun, which was used for the 1999–2000 season.
Over the last few years, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has played numerous Pops programs of American symphony orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, and Atlanta Symphony. They created a new song for the movie The Wild, and recorded a song for Disney's Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation Special. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy also performed on the hit television show Dancing with the Stars, and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote their album How Big Can You Get?: The Music of Cab Calloway, a collection of their renditions of Cab Calloway songs in April 2009. Saturday, May 19 – 7:30pm
Riverside County Philharmonic
Pianist: Roman Rabinovich
All three composers on tonight’s program were heroes to their people. Beethoven’s revolutionary spirit and his bold compositions, such as the Overture to Fidelio, made him a hero to the Viennese people, to the ideals of Romanticism and to the world. His funeral was attended by an estimated 20,000 people.
The first time the name Finland was ever mentioned in print was at the world premiere of one of the symphonies of Sibelius. His country was new, and he became a hero and spokesman for it. His 2nd Symphony is one of his most famous works, and it brings to mind images of the grandness and beauty of the Finish landscape. Considered at times hero of the people (and at others an enemy of the state) by the communist regime, Prokofiev was one of the most imaginative composers of his time, creating a new, unique musical language that captured the passionate voice of old Russia in the new ridiculous Soviet world. We will be joined by internationally renowned pianist Roman Rabinovich, who will perform Prokofiev's rarely heard and fiendishly difficult 5th Piano Concerto - one of the wildest and most virtuosic piano pieces ever written.
