Recognized by the Austin Film Festival, the New Works Festival at the Panndora Theater in Long Beach, and 5th Wall Productions in Charleston, SC, THERE IS EVIL IN THIS HOUSE is a poignant and haunting play about family based on real events. You won't want to miss this award-winning script on its feet for the first time.
A pop-culture obsessed transgender woman copes with the realities of having grown up in a haunted house, the trauma of coming out to her mother, and uncovers the painful truth about the demons that haunt her still.
Flat Tire Theatre Company is very honored and humbled to produce Natalie Nicole Dressel's premiere production of There is Evil in This House. From the first read, we knew we wanted to help share Natalie's story: the profound retelling of a transwoman's journey of coming to terms with what makes her, her...in her own words- from the heartwarming to the troubling to the haunted. With complex women characters, the harrowing remembrance of a childhood, and truthful comedy, this play is an incredibly original take on the human condition and family dynamics. There is Evil in This House is exactly what Flat Tire hopes to continue to bring to LA audiences: new, eclectic, and meaningful work created by our very own. This play means so much to us personally. We hope you will enjoy it and see why this story is important too.

We are a group that provides emerging artists the support and space needed to make their stories a reality. Our members have traveled a long way to get here, both physically and metaphorically, and are adamant that nothing, not even a flat tire, can stop us from making art. Our hope is to create a community of newbies, weirdos, and dreamers while simultaneously presenting the LA audience with eclectic new work.
