1920s themed Flappers Comedy Club and Restaurant will ring in the New Year with two headliner shows loaded with laughs, champagne toasts, and party favors on Thursday, December 31.
Revelers can party like it's 1929 from 7:30 PM to ring East Coast New Year's Eve, followed by a 10:00 PM show counting down to midnight West Coast-style. Tickets for each show are $39.00, and are available at www.flapperscomedy.com.
Post-modern Vaudevillian Michael Rayner (BANANAS, DAVID LETTERMAN, SESAME STREET) will host both shows. Rayner's show has been described as "preposterous brilliance" and "whacky jugglement," a combination of hilarious tricks and stunts with uproarious stand-up, and a bounty of improvised fun and zingers. His signature trick is spinning a McDonald's cheeseburger on an umbrella, which garnered him an appearance on The David Letterman Show. Other TV appearances include Sesame Street, The Extreme Gong Show, Thirty Seconds to Fame, and Attack of the Show. Rayner is a favorite on Nickelodeon, having performed his antics on What Would You Do? and Nick Arcade.
Rayner will be joined by a cavalcade of talent with Alycia Cooper (COMICS UNLEASHED, LAST COMIC STANDING, AMERICA'S GOT TALENT), The Show (NCIS, EASY TO ASSEMBLE), Jose Barrientos (STANDUP 101 PRANK YOUTUBE, 20/20, NACA NATIONALS 2015), Taylor Tomlinson (THE COMEDY STORE, SAN DIEGO COMEDY FESTIVAL, MADHOUSE COMEDY CLUB), Dave Reinitz (THIS AMERICAN LIFE, BBC, TRAVEL CHANNEL, KPFK), and Don Friesen (SHOWTIME 1 HR SPECIAL, JUST FOR LAUGHS, KLOS 5:00 FUNNIES).
