2011 Hollywood Fringe Top of the Fringe-Winners Four Clowns will present That Beautiful Laugh, conceived by Orlando Pabotoy and directed by Turner Munch at the 2012 Hollywood Fringe Festival at Fringe Central – Open Fist Theater, 6209 Santa Monica Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90038 tonight, June 8 at 8pm; Saturday, June 16 at 10pm; Thursday, June 21 at 8pm; and Saturday, June 23 at 9pm.
Departing from his home, the moon, a wise old man travels with his weathered precious trunk to a world that has forgotten how to laugh. Hoping to extinguish cynicism and judgement and replace it with joy and curiosity, he brings an arsenal of clowns, ignorant to the rules of the world. Together, these clowns must embark on a quest to find that beautiful laugh. Searching through each other and their audience the clowns will discover and examine every avenue of laughter; love, joy, mischief, pain, fear, sadness and more, hoping to find the laugh that they have all been waiting for…That Beautiful Laugh. 2011 Hollywood Fringe's Top of the Fringe winner and National Touring clown troupe, Four Clowns bring you their first family and child friendly show about the joys of laughter.
The show stars Kevin Di Leo as Krumpitz, Andrew Eiden as Marvin, Dave Honigman as Tom, Connor Kelly-Eiding as Peking Duck, Raymond Lee as O'Precious, Bri Price as RoBecca, Lis Roche Vizcarra as Loretta (the Tinkler!) with Associate Producers: Kat Primeau & Alexis Jones, Lighting Designer: Hector Quinteros, Set Designer: Amy Ramirez and Stage Manager: Essence Brown.
Four Clowns received the Top of the Fringe Award last year at the 2011 Hollywood Fringe, winning over nearly 200 shows with their adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, as well as taking home the Best World Premiere and Best Physical Theater & Dance Awards. Their original show, Four Clowns won Best Physical Theatre and Dance at the 2010 Hollywood Fringe, is LA Ovation Recommended, was awarded Best of the Fringe at San Francisco and has toured to over ten different cities around the country. This highly-anticipated follow-up production is an invigorating match for the growing Family Friendly programming to be offered as part of 2012 Hollywood Fringe.
