Kentwood Players proudly presents the musical murder mystery spoof "SOMETHING'S AFOOT" opening tonight, November 13 through Saturday, December 19, 2015 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm, at the Westchester Playhouse, located at 8301 Hindry Avenue in Los Angeles, CA 90045. The production is directed by Catherine Rahm with choreography by Alison Mattiza, produced by Lori A. Marple Pereslete by special arrangement with Samuel French.

Featured in the cast in alphabetical order are Elizabeth Bouton, Harold Dershimer, Megan Duquette, Aaron Eberhardt, Samuel Goldman, Lynn Gutstadt, Daniel Kruger, Roy Okida, Kim Peterson, and Dana Weisman.

"SOMETHING'S AFOOT" is a musical murder mystery that spoofs detective stories, most particularly Agatha Christie's, And Then There Were None (a.k.a. Ten Little Indians). The book, music, and lyrics were written by James McDonald, David Vos, and Robert Gerlach, with additional music by Ed Linderman. The play involves a group of standard British mystery characters (the Cockney servants, the brash retired military man, the imperious dowager, the snoopy spinster, the ne'er-do-well nephew, the ingénue couple) who are invited to the lake estate of Lord Dudley Rancour. When the wealthy lord is found dead, it's a comical race against the clock and some outrageous booby traps to find out whodunit.

Tickets are $25.00 with a $2.00 discount for seniors and students. To purchase tickets, please call (310) 645-5156 during box office hours, Wednesday through Saturday from 4-7 PM. You may also purchase tickets online at www.kentwoodplayers.org. For group ticket sales of 10 or more, please call the box office for group rates. This musical is appropriate for all ages, but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult in the theater.

Kentwood Players is offering a Thanksgiving Weekend special for performances of "SOMETHING'S AFOOT" on November 27, 28 and 29 only. This special offer includes a free glass of either wine or sparkling cider during intermission with all paid admissions. Additionally, any purchase or renewal of a season ticket on those dates will receive two extra Friday night companion tickets to be used for any show during their season.

And here's a special way for patrons to share the warmth of the holiday season. Kentwood Kares, organized by Kentwood Players President Kathy Dershimer, gives the community theater group the opportunity to lend a hand to those in need in our city during the holidays. So be an angel and please donate a new or gently used coat, jacket or sweater to the third annual Kentwood Kares Coat Drive by bringing in new or gently used coats, jackets and sweaters to the Westchester Playhouse. All items will be donated to the Union Rescue Mission located in downtown Los Angeles on San Pedro Street, a group that provides emergency and long term services to men, women and children trying to escape living on Skid Row.

Founded in 1891, the Union Rescue Mission is the oldest mission of its kind in the City of the Angels. Our supportive patrons donated 100 items during the first year's drive and 200 items the second. So this year, let's all work together and donate 300 coats, jackets or sweaters, bringing the warmth of the holidays to those in need in our city.
