FIREHOUSE by playwright, Pedro Antonio Garcia, directed by Bryan Rasmussen, consulting producer, Robert ‘Bobby' Moresco (co-writer CRASH), and produced by Laura Coker at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, CA, will have its final three performances, Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10 at 8pm, with a special Sunday, September 11th performance at 5pm (PDT) dedicated to the firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11. The special Sunday, September 11th performance will also have a simultaneous broadcast, making FIREHOUSE the first 99-seat theatre to broadcast live, worldwide under AFTRA's New Media Contract.
FIREHOUSE opened February 4, 2011, playing Friday nights, and has been extended numerous times. Based on true events, this life and death story of the moral choices of firemen explodes when a young girl dies and the firehouse is blamed. Cast features Dave Baez (Miss Match, Dexter), Jossara Jinaro (Passions, The Devil's Rejects), Nick Stabile (Saints & Sinners), Maurice Compte (Breaking Bad), Ed Morrone (White Collar), Bryan Rasmussen (24, Southland) and Jon Southwell (What Would Jesus Do?).
FIREHOUSE director and actor Bryan Rasmussen commented that, "It's amazing that our Whitefire production has a chance to be the first 99-seat theatre to broadcast live worldwide under AFTRA's New Media Contract. This could pioneer a new way of producing small theatre, be able to fund it, and pay actors - - and, how great is that! Aaron Sanchez at Sedona Media Group along with Eventbrite, have partnered with Los Angeles theatre producer Laura Coker, to make this dream come to life!"
Rasmussen continued, "The great thing is to be able to do this as a tribute to the firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11, makes it such an honor to be a part of. Many prominent L.A. firefighters have already come and seen "Firehouse" and have been brought to tears by the emotional journey of these characters. It's very difficult to craft a new play, and we continue to tweak it to this day. Audiences are reacting strongly to the material which is very exciting. But what a piece of material! A great story! These final three shows are going to be quite special. I hope everyone can try and see this!"Tickets to the live performances are $25, and are available at www.theatermania.com, or by phone (323) 822-7898.
