Estate Of Legendary Rose Marie Finds A Home In The National Comedy Center ImageEntertainment icon, Rose Marie, loved every part of her career, but more than acting or singing, it was making people laugh that was her greatest professional joy. To know that her contribution to the "art of comedy" would be included and recognized by the National Comedy Center would surely count as one of her greatest honors.

"With the release of 'Wait For Your Laugh' last year, and her work promoting the film, my mother finally got to see just how much of an impact she made on today's women, show business and comedy. Until then, she honestly had no idea and she would have never expected that the nation's repository for comedy, the National Comedy Center, would want to include her archives in their collection, a collection that is also home to her dear friend Lucille Ball," said Rose Marie's daughter, Georgianna "Noopy" Rodrigues.

"Mother saved everything over her 90 year career. The idea of chronicling and organizing it was overwhelming, but 3 _ years ago Jason Wise came along and set out to make the film 'Wait For Your Laugh' about her life. Because of his amazing work going through every scrapbook, can of film, photo and piece of correspondence I was prepared to make this donation. I am so thrilled and excited that her fans will soon be able to experience her treasures and keepsakes. She really was the history of show business and because of her inclusion in this cultural institution people will finally recognize just how much she changed the climate of the entertainment world."

Jason Wise, the director of "Wait For Your Laugh," the documentary of Rose Marie's amazing career stated, "When we began filming 'Wait for Your Laugh,' my dream was that Rose Marie could take us through the history of showbiz with her own career. She more than made that dream a reality. She was not only the story I hoped for, but she had the hard materials to back it up. In her house we found thousands of personal and professional photos spanning the entire 20th Century, along with dozens of film reels she and her late husband Bobby shot of their private life during her 90 year career. We found hundreds of telegrams, notes, and greeting cards that synced up perfectly with her amazing memory. Rose Marie's archive became a character in the film as much as the woman was herself and I fell in love with both. I am so profoundly pleased that those materials which helped to bring her story to life in 'Wait For Your Laugh,' will be preserved by the National Comedy Center. My heart is happy to know that Rose Marie's life and legacy will be enjoyed and discovered by generations to come."

Not only will fans have the opportunity to learn about Rose Marie's unparalleled career through the DVD and digital release of "Wait For Your Laugh," they will now be able to visit the National Comedy Center and see firsthand documentation of what she described as a most wonderful life!
