Echo Park Craft Fair will ring in the holiday season with a meticulous curation on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 from 10am - 6pm at Mack Sennett Studios.
Founded by artists Rachel Craven and Beatrice Valenzuela, Echo Park Craft Fair has become a pioneering showcase for the thriving Makers Movement.
Featuring a meticulous curation of work from some of the finest artists in America, the Fair celebrates innovators creating in a vast array of mediums - from ceramics to jewelry, handcrafted beauty, clothing design, woodworking to fabric art. Founded at the cusp of what is now a global trend toward the support of the handcrafted and locally sourced, the Echo Park Craft Fair has evolved, over nearly a decade, from a backyard pop-up, to a vast community gathering.
Seven years after its inception, the Fair draws influencers and tastemakers, as well as national and international retail buyers, magazine editors and stylists - all of whom flock to the market to source products, ignite ideas and fuel creative inspiration.
"We have multiplied in numbers," explains Co-Founder Beatrice Valenzuela. "When we started there was about a dozen of us. Now there are over 100 vendors and thousands of people coming through our doors. But what has remained is the focus on creating a place for our community to come together and ensuring the integrity and authenticity of the products... the result is an experience that is absolutely incomparable."
It is exactly this sense of inclusiveness, plus a relentless eye for quality and detail that sets the Echo Park Craft Fair apart from other markets of its kind. This is an event not merely showcasing and celebrating artists, it's curated and founded by artists as well. Hosting thousands over the course of a highly anticipated 2-day event, the Fair draws style-icons, celebrities and trendsetters - a creative-minded, discerning crowd who cull inspiration from the vendors and vibrant communal atmosphere.
Both Valenzuela and co-founder Rachel Craven are successful designers with established namesake lines. Together, they have spearheaded and nurtured what has now become both an evolving e-commerce business and a one-of-a-kind communal gathering. "You feel the camaraderie between artists and their supporters," says Craven of the event, "It's really a wonderful exchange. People want to know the artist that is making the objects they buy. At the Fair, they have an opportunity to meet the artists they support, establishing relationships that have ultimately grown through the years."
Expanding far beyond from its beginnings as an intimate backyard gathering, The Echo Park Craft Fairnow occupies the entirety of the legendary Mack Sennett Studios in Los Angeles, spreading across two massive soundstages and occupying an entire block just outside the historic venue.
The Fair offers delicious artisan foods and coffees from the finest local eateries, transformative dusts and tonics from Moon Juice, a specialty cocktail bar hosted by Pharmacie LA and eclectic music curated by renowned Dublab DJs. Featured new vendors include:
Co-Founders Valenzuela and Craven, alongside longtime EPCF collaborator, florist Kristen Caissie of Moon Canyon, form a team that works tirelessly together to create a beautifully curated aesthetic for every event. They bring the 100-year-old film studio to life with gorgeous floral arrangements and elegant interior design details.
A portion of our proceeds goes to PATH - PATH is a family of agencies working together to end homelessness for individuals, families, and communities.
