Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store Celebrates National Ice Cream Day 7/17

Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store, which is adjacent to Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre, will celebrate National Ice Cream Day this Sunday, July 17, by offering free single scoop "ice cream day" sundaes to all guests from their cone window on Hollywood Boulevard between 10:00am to 2:00pm or while quantities last, it was announced today by Lylle Breier, senior vice president of worldwide special events for Disney.

Breier said, "We are thrilled to honor National Ice Cream Day and try to freeze out Carmageddon as only Disney's Soda Fouvntain and Studio Store can, with this special way of saying thank you to all of our guests with a free single scoop sundae served from our cone window on Hollywood Boulevard. Guests can continue the fun with a visit to the El Capitan Theatre, as tickets are still available for "Cars 2" and the World Grand Prix Attraction. It's our way of continuing to make the El Capitan Theatre L.A.'s summer fun headquarters."

The Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store offers an old fashioned ice cream parlor experience with some fun new twists. Cones, sundaes, shakes and malts, freezes, floats, and old-time phosphates are available at the counter, at full servIce Tables, and for take-out. Coca-Cola products are featured at the Soda Fountain, where specialty beverages are freshly mixed for real fountain flavor and served by an authentic soda jerk.

The Studio Store features a wide assortment of Disney DVD titles, collectible pins, and exclusive Disney merchandise tied to the movies playing at the El Capitan Theatre next door. Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store began servIce To the public on June 22nd 2005 in conjunction with the El Capitan Theatre and has been a popular attraction on Hollywood Boulevard ever since.

"CARS 2" presented in Disney Digital 3D^TM and RealD^TM 3D, plays through Aug. 28 at the El Capitan Theatre, and the exclusive guest experience includes the all new Cars 2 World Grand Prix Attraction presented by Kodak. The Cars 2 World Grand Prix is a turbo-charged, all-new 52,000 square-foot outdoor attraction located behind the El Capitan Theatre. It's filled with more than 3 ½ hours of fun and games for the entire family.
