JD3atrical Productions is thrilled to announce that the smash-hit, critically-acclaimed (LA Times CRITICS' CHOICE; LA Weekly GO!; Backstage CRITIC'S PICK) world premiere production of YELLOW, written and directed by Del Shores (The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife, Southern Baptist Sissies, Sordid Lives) and produced by Louise Beard, Emerson Collins, Jason Dottley and Del Shores is EXTENDING thru SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 at the Coast Playhouse, 8325 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood.

YELLOW marks almost eight collective years that a world premiere play by Del Shores has been on a Los Angeles stage, playing to thousands of theatre lovers and winning over 100 L.A. theatre awards! Del Shores' launched his playwriting career in Los Angeles in 1984 with his first play Cheatin'. Since then, one play has become a studio film (Daddy's Dyin...Who's Got the Will?), one an independent film cult classic (Sordid Lives) which in-turn became an internationally syndicated television series (Sordid Lives: The Series). With sold-out houses and golden rave reviews, YELLOW's Los Angeles extension seems to be only the beginning.

YELLOW chronicles a year in the life of what seems to be the perfect family in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Kate Westmoreland (Kristen McCullough "Breathtaking performance" LA Weekly) is a respected therapist and her husband Bobby Westmoreland (David Cowgill Sordid Lives: The Series "Superb" Beverly Press) is a high school football coach. They have two ambitious teenagers; Dayne (Luke McClure "Masterful performance" Backstage) is the golden child and football star, while Gracie (Evie Louise Thompson "Steals every scene she's in" Hollywood Reporter) is an aspiring actress who feels misunderstood at all times. Gracie's best friend Kendall (Matthew Scott Montgomery "handily walks of with the production" Variety) shares her affinity for the theatre which puts him at odds with his fundamentalist mother, Sister Timothea (Susan Leslie Glee/Mad Men "Riveting" Broadway World).

As the play opens, all seems right in the Westmoreland household. Dayne prepares for the start of football season, and Gracie and Kendall audition to join the cast of the high school production of "Oklahoma." Everything quickly begins to fall apart when an unexpected tragedy rocks the solid foundation of the Westmoreland, testing faith in every sense of the word.
