Renowned choreographer Debbie Allen will direct and choreograph her dance musical 'OMAN...O Man!' which will have its LA premiere at the Royce Hall, UCLA, on December 11 and 12.

Commissioned by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the production brings together dancers from the Sultanate of Oman, the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, and the D.C. in a rich celebration of cultures and customs.

Press notes reveal that "at the center of the work are two young men--one Omani, another American--who meet at a military academy with cadets from all over the world. Though similar in age, these roommates don't really understand each other. However, through music, movement, song, and dance, they take a magical journey together and discover the similarities and the differences between their two cultures, and learn much about each other. OMAN...O Man! will transport you from where the Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea meet to where the desert dunes mystify, from the ancient past to the immediate present."

Grammy and Emmy award winning composer Arturo Sandoval wrote the original score which accompanies the production.

Debbie Allen is a choreographer, director, producer, dancer and actor. Fans of the 1982 series and movie 'Fame' will remember her portrayal of dance teacher Lydia, a role she resumed in the 2009 remake of the dance classic. Allen directed the Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and will once again direct the production for its West End premiere that begins next month. As an actress, she is also a two-time Tony Award nominee for 'West Side Story' and 'Sweet Charity'.

Tickets for the production cost $13 -$43. For more information, please visit www.debbieallendanceacademy.com.
