An 11:11 Experience announced today the return of the critically acclaimed theater piece, Famous, which will open on March 29th. Written and directed by Michael Leoni (Elevator), Famous originally opened on July 27, 2018 and experienced an overwhelming response. The performance was subsequently extended for an unprecedented 20 week run.
A raw look at the dark side of fame, Famous is an unapologetic piece that elicits a reaction from every audience member. Touching on the epidemic of sexual exploitation in the Entertainment industry through the eyes of its victims, the show's goal is to promote honest conversations, even if they are uncomfortable, and to drive change in the industry.
Famous branches beyond the traditional realm of the medium and introduces audiences to a truly unique live experience. Utilizing an intricate set with multiple rooms, every scene flows seamlessly into the other and creates a sense of cinematic realism. With action that never lets up, Famous is a cinematic and suspenseful thrill ride where everything is tested, and only real friendship will survive. For people that have been given everything, what they're truly seeking is the one thing that fame can't buy.
"I strive to create art that makes people think and encourages them to open themselves up to another viewpoint," says Leoni. "With Famous, I hope we touch on audience's emotions and inspire them to join the greater conversation on the long-term effects of trauma and the silent epidemic that has plagued the industry for decades."
Set in 1994, Famous takes audiences into a world ruled by sex, money, and power taken at any cost. Just nominated for his first Oscar, Jason Mast is throwing a celebratory party at his Hollywood Hills home that serves as the backdrop for an intricate plan to confront his past with the night unfolding at an adrenaline-rushed pace. Driven by a devastating need to expose the truth, Jason's attempt to control the outcome of the evening ignites a chain of events that push the boundaries of real friendship and reveals the true cost of fame.
Famous stars returning actors Derick Breezee, Megan Davis, Rosanna DeCandia, Greg DePetro, Kenny Johnston, Thomas McNamara, Decker Sadowski, and Jacqi Vene, as well as welcomes newcomers Kyle Mac, Eduardo Maruri, LL Michaels, and Josh Pafchek to the cast. The show is produced by Rebecca Black, Erica Katzin, Michelle Kaufer, and Cassidy Pepper.
