Coyote StageWorks' Play Dates Reading Series presents the Antaeus Theater Ensemble's staged reading of "Hughie," a short two character play by Eugene O'Neill, at the Annenberg Theater in Palm Springs, tonight, December 19, 2013 at 5:30 pm. The performance is free to the public. Coyote Stageworks was recently voted 'Best Live Theater' in The Desert Sun's Best of the Valley competition for the second year in a row.
Set in the lobby of a seedy Times Square hotel during the late 1920's, a small timehustler named Erie Smith laments to the hotel's new night clerk, Charlie Hughes, about how his luck has gone bad since the death of Hughie, Hughes' predecessor. "O'Neill takes the audience on a journey into Erie's soul, compelling them to support his path of mourning and ultimate redemption," explains Chuck Yates, Founding ArtisticDirector of Coyote StageWorks. "We encourage patrons to reserve their tickets early because we're expecting a full house for this production."
Tickets for "Hughie" are available on a first come, first served basis at the Annenberg Theater Box Office beginning Tuesday, December 17th. Call 760-325-4490.
