Having trained as a ballet dancer and danced professionally in her late teens and early twenties, Ellyn was scouted by a modeling agent in Paris at the age of 17 and has subsequently worked as a model in Paris, Milan, New York, Tokyo, Hamburg, Los Angeles, Barcelona and Madrid. When modeling took her to Los Angeles, Ellyn began getting acting jobs and performing stand-up comedy and has been working on the international circuit in Los Angeles, New York, Spain and the UK since, drawing on many of the experiences she's had throughout her extensive travels in her writing, acting and stand-up comedy.
"Emotional Terrorism started off as an attempt to understand the origins of the many debilitating voices in my head," explains Daniels. "Make sure you take a good hard look at the people who tell you that you're not good enough, that you're missing something, or that you don't have what it takes to make it. Usually you'll find they have given up on their own dreams or worse, never had the courage to try."
Emotional Terrorism will also make its UK debut at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.
As an actress Ellyn has appeared on Oxygen's 'Funny Girls', ABC's 'The Forgotten' and in the hit web-series, 'Kiss Her I'm Famous'. Most recently she co-created, produced, directed and starred in the original comedy series, '30, Debt-Free & Far From Happy' which premiered at the 2016 New York Television Festival. Ellyn was awarded Best Actress in a Comedy from the Velvet Rope Film Festival for her work on this series.
The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. Each June during the Hollywood Fringe, the arts infiltrate the Hollywood neighborhood: fully equipped theaters, parks, clubs, churches, restaurants and other unexpected places host hundreds of productions by local, national, and international arts companies and independent performers.
Participation in the Hollywood Fringe is completely open and uncensored. This free-for-all approach underlines the festival's mission to be a platform for artists without the barrier of a curative body. By opening the gates to anyone with a vision, the festival is able to exhibit the most diverse and cutting-edge points-of-view the world has to offer. Additionally, by creating an environment where artists must self-produce their work, the Fringe motivates its participants to cultivate a spirit of entrepreneurialism in the arts. The Hollywood Fringe Festival is a non-profit company. The festival gives 100% of box office revenue back to participating artists and venues.
