After another sold out run of shows at this year's Hollywood Fringe Festival, Confessions of An Arab Woman was awarded the Encore! Producers' award. Those chosen for the Encore! Producers' Award represent the best of the Hollywood Fringe as selected by venue producers, based on artistic merit and commercial potential. Along with this distinction comes a set of sponsored encore performances.
"Confessions of an Arab Woman" returns to the Complex Theatres August 23rd, 25th, 26th and the 27th. Bringing to the stage the life story of acclaimed writer Joumana Haddad and her best selling book "I Killed Scheherazade". It explores her upbringing in Lebanon and all the factors that made her who she is today. It counters stereotypes about Arab and Middle eastern women by showcasing an authentic story of a powerful woman. At the same time, it is an invitation to women everywhere to own their power.
Adapted to the stage and produced by Nagham Wehbe along with support from Asst. Director Karmel Humphrey. Starring: Elmira Rahim, Nadia El-Tawansy, Gamon Quinn, Sandy Rather, Tiffany Badie, Brenda Salas, Taylor Solomon, Alexandra Olson, Evan Langle, Gilbert Reynoso. Choreography by Calista Ruiz. Sound by Christopher Alvarez. Make-up by Hiba Flayan. Music by Marcel Khalifi, Iyad Wehbe, Nina Grae, Ryan & Raja.
