Cabaret Awesome return to the historic Vitello's Jazz and Supper Club in Studio City, Calif., at 8pm tonight, September 10th for a brand new season of explosively creative live shows.

Joey Bybee and Lee Huff bring a modern spin to old school cabaret with their mixture of original comedy songs and pop parodies.

"Our shows tend to push the envelope of what is expected from live acts. It's a fast paced musical variety show with weekly guest artists. Think Glee meets Spinal Tap meets Pitch Perfect," says Director and Emcee, Joey Bybee who has a degree in musical theater.

"Cabaret Awesome is not your typical NY, story driven, song-to-song show. In many ways, it is closer to a much older French style revue, complete with comedy, sexuality, and drinking; though we use modern music," said Bybee.

The other half of Cabaret Awesome is Lee Huff, a classically trained musician with a Master's degree from New York Universities Tisch School of the Arts.

"When people hear the term "Cabaret" they immediately think "musical theatre" songs. That's not us. While we will occasionally incorporate those into the show, the musical theatre archives take more of a backseat to pop and our original songs," explained Huff.

"If you took SNL, Johnny Carson, Jimmy Fallon, Carol Burnett, cabaret, improv, Jonathan Coulton and Stephen Lynch and put them all in a blender you'd end up with Cabaret Awesome."

Each week the duo write and perform a fresh new show including hilarious and catchy cabaret mashups. Billy Idol's White Wedding mixed with the 1980's Duck Tales TV show theme was a huge success and we can expect many more this season.

"We also like to incorporate other artistic avenues such as dance, burlesque, magic, circus "oddities", multimedia, and video games," said Huff.

Vitello's Jazz and Supper Club an LA institution and famous for showcasing top talent including several Grammy winners. There's also an undeniable cool historical vibe as Vitello's is well known for being the Rat Pack's hangout.

Cabaret Awesome runs Tuesdays at 8pm from tonight, September 10 onward. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door (plus a two drink minimum). Vitello's is located at 4349 Tujunga Ave Studio City, CA 91604 Book now on www.ticketweb.com or 818-769-0905, and for more information visit www.cabaretawesome.com.
