Continuing its 8 year reign as the most critically acclaimed, award-winning supper club of its kind in the greater Los Angeles area dedicated to presenting the best of Broadway Performers and Nightclub Artists in concert, Sterling's Upstairs at The Federal welcomes Broadway's David Burnham and Valerie Perri in their co-headlining concert debut of Together Again for the First Time, an evening of non-stop Broadway showstoppers with Musical Direction by Mark Vogel at Sterling's Upstairs at The Federal in the NoHo Arts District of North Hollywood Sunday, September 21, 2014. Mr. Burnham and Ms. Perri made their much heralded, co-starring bow last year as "Joe Gillis" and "Norma Desmond" in southern California's 20th anniversary revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Blvd for Musical Theatre West at the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach, CA.
David Burnham, was last seen on Broadway in Wicked, co-starring as "Fiyero," a role he originated in workshops of the show. He is an original Broadway cast member of The Light in the Piazza, performing both on the Tony Awards and the PBS telecast Live from Lincoln Center. He is also the recipient of a Helen Hayes Award and a Garland Award as Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of "Fabrizio" in the U.S. National Broadway tour of The Light in the Piazza. Additionally, he replaced Donny Osmond as "Joseph" in the U.S. national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for which he won a Best Actor Dramalogue Award; and also toured as "Peter" in Jesus Christ Superstar. Other appearances include starring in the Off-Broadway hit The Best is Yet to Come - The Music Of Cy Coleman. He was also the voice of the Prince in the Warner Bros. animated feature The King And I. He continues to perform with numerous symphonies in the United States, and has headlined his own solo concerts throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Valerie Perri's portrayal of "Norma Desmond" in the Musical Theater West production of Sunset Blvd. earned her a Best Leading Actress in a Regional Musical nomination from Broadway World and a Stage Scene LA Scenie Award for the 2013 Best Musical Performance of the Year. She made her professional stage debut starring as Eva Peron in the U.S. National Broadway touring ompany of Evita under the direction of the legendary, Harold Prince. Valerie also worked with the late Jerome Robbins in the 1st U.S. National Broadway Tour of Jerome Robbins Broadway; and was awarded a Los Angeles Drama Critics' Award for the Pasadena Playhouse production of Harry Chapin: Lies and Legends. Television roles include Criminal Minds, ER, Another World, Brooklyn Bridge, and Who's the Boss? Film roles include The Out of Towners with Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin; Disney's George of the Jungle; Grease; and Dickie Roberts. She has also recorded a solo CD of Broadway and popular standards titled Sweet Conversation, and enjoys performing with symphony orchestras across America.
