Break Free Productions proudly presents their first theatrical production of Stephen Belber's psychological drama, "TAPE". Directed by Cherry Norris. TAPE will open on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 8pm with additional performances on June 17, 18, 23, and 24 at 8pm and June 19 at 2pm.
Jon, an aspiring filmmaker, and Vince, a dope-dealing volunteer fireman, are reunited in their hometown when Jon's new film is being shown at the Lansing Film Festival. Confined within a motel room, their friendly catch up rapidly turns to an abrasive confrontation when they revisit the details of an event 10 years prior about a girl, Amy, whom they both dated. Beneath it's suspenseful, high-stakes surface, TAPE examines the questions of motive, memory, truth, and perception.
This production of TAPE takes an enthralling look at love and betrayal among three friends. "The play really hits on the depth of the human psyche and power of a damaged ego, and in doing so really takes the audience on an incredible psychological journey themselves" said producer and actor David Wunderlich. "It's a fabulous story with lots of unexpected twists and turns," said director Cherry Norris.
The cast of TAPE features David Wunderlich as Vince, Brandon Campopiano as Jon, and Angeline Anderson as Amy.
David Wunderlich and Brandon Campopiano developed Break Free Productions in 2015. In the short time they have produced a number of short films and sketch comedies with TAPE being their debut theatrical production. The vision of Break Free Productions is to create great opportunities without having to ask for permission. "The goal here, really, is to create work that affects people. That's the reason both of us got into this in the first place," says Wunderlich.
