Steele Spring Theatrical Licensing, one of the foremost boutique theatrical publishers in the United States, announced today that the company has changed its name to Steele Spring Stage Rights. For over 13 years, Steele Spring has provided performance stage rights for musicals and plays to professional and amateur theater companies, universities, and stage societies across the country.

Founded in 2000 by playwright Roger Bean, Steele Spring Stage Rights currently represents 45 unique musicals, revues, plays, and children's shows. "We began as a small operation representing my own shows, and have grown into the leading boutique publisher in the country," says Bean. "We grant stage rights to theaters across the globe, and we wanted our new name to better illustrate what we do as a company." Alongside Bean's own off-Broadway hit and regional juggernaut "The Marvelous Wonderettes," Steele Spring Stage Rights offers performance rights to recent New York hits such as "Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating, & Marriage" by Ken Davenport and Sarah Saltzberg, "Dally With the Devil" by Victor L. Cahn, and "Piggy Nation The Musical" by Richard R. Rosser.

Steele Spring Stage Rights is based in Los Angeles, and has always included regional plays and musicals as a part of its licensing repertoire. Among the award-winning regional hits the publisher currently represents: "I'm Just Wild About Harry" by William R. Reilly and Gary Lamb (Los Angeles); "The Paisley Sisters' Christmas Special" by Bret Silverman, Joel Benjamin, James Ansart, and Steve Silverman (Boston); "Life Could Be A Dream," by Roger Bean (Los Angeles); "Liberace!" by Brent Hazelton (Milwaukee); "8-Track: The Sounds of the Seventies," conceived by Rick Seeber (Bridgeport); and "Watson: The Last Great Tale of the Legendary Sherlock Holmes" by Jaime Robledo (Los Angeles).

Steele Spring Stage Rights currently reaches over 28,000 theater companies and producers around the globe, offering new printed and digital rehearsal materials, costume and wig rentals, and additional stage performance enhancements to help each theater company produce each show to the best of their abilities. "Everyone wants a hit show," says Bean, "and we give each theater the tools they need to create one."

About Steele Spring Stage Rights: Steele Spring Stage Rights was founded in 2000 by Roger Bean with the mission to promote lesser-known, audience-pleasing plays and musicals to theater companies across the country, and to provide professional and amateur theaters with top-notch customer service and high quality rehearsal materials. As a result of these key-operating principles, combined with a "hands-on" leadership approach, Steele Spring Stage Rights has become the foremost boutique publisher in the theatrical community. Steele Spring Stage Rights has recently expanded internationally, and shows in the catalog have been licensed to companies in Australia, Italy, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
