The Theatre @ Boston Court announces Playwright/Director, Emilie Beck, as the new Co-Literary Manager for The Theatre @ Boston Court.
Beck's plays have been produced, workshopped, or read at Hartford Stage, Pasadena Playhouse, Piven Theatre, Playwright's Theatre, Elephant Theatre, El Portal Theatre, Daedalus Studio, Road Theatre, and the HBO Workspace. She received LA Weekly awards for Best Director and Best Production for "Block Nine" at the Elephant Theatre, and directed the Jeff-Award winning production of "Because They Have No Words" in Chicago, as well as the Ovation-nominated production in LA. She was Associate Manager at Center Theatre Group until 2009, and continued to produce the Sherwood Award Program through 2010.
Beck joins Co-Literary Manager, Aaron Henne and Co-Artistic Directors, Jessica Kubzansky and Michael Michetti as the artistic team for The Theatre @ Boston Court. The Theatre @ Boston Court is the non-profit company that programs the state-of-the-art 99-seat main stage theatre in Boston Court Performing Arts Center at 70 North Mentor Avenue at Boston Court. Z. Clark Branson is the developer of the center and founding director of The Theatre @ Boston Court. Michael Seel is the executive director of Boston Court Performing Arts Center.The Theatre @ Boston Court is supported in part by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust, Founding Director Z.
