A closeted film actor. The rent boy who loves him. His girlfriend. The agent who sees love as just another irritating speed bump on the road to serious power.
Those conflicted characters take center stage in Douglas Carter Beane's Tony Award-nominated comedy The Little Dog Laughed, presented by Blazeco Productions at The Secret Rose Theatre in North Hollywood June 15 – July 8, 2012.
In The Little Dog Laughed, a hot young Hollywood actor, Mitchell, is up for the role of a lifetime. His agent, Diane, will do anything in her power to keep his "slight recurring case of homosexuality" under wraps. But then Alex, a gay-for-pay hustler, enters the scene, with a girlfriend and their own set of secrets. What are these four conflicted characters willing to give up and compromise for success?
"Little Dog Laughed" was nominated for a Tony in 2007 for Best New Play, and won a Best Actress Tony award for Julie White. It was also nominated for a GLAAD Media Award and Lucille Lortel Awards.
